Meeting the needs of our community.

The primary beneficiaries of Safe Harbour  will be people experiencing a diverse range of social issues including the effects of drugs and/or alcohol addiction. The individuals or groups which the project will support will be affected by many emotional issues such as,  low self esteem, low self worth, low self confidence, which is both a direct and indirect result of social issues such as, low income,poverty, domestic violence, bereavement & loss and lack of family support.
The diverse range of individuals and groups who will directly benefit from Safe Harbour in Greenock include, parents to be,  parents/carers and families who are experiencing chaotic lifestyles which often have a damaging effect on family relationships.

Therapeutic environment

The Safe Harbour experience will begin in a specially designed sensory room which will embrace a range of emotional support, using a combination of lighting effects in tandem with effects such as ocean waves and rippling water which will provide gentle sounds. This will be enhanced by warm aromas of essential oils. This will offer a therapeutic environment which creates an oasis of calm where individuals can escape from emotional chaos, supporting the worker to build a trusting relationship with the client.
